MYSTICAL LEAF

Mystical Leaf is a story about a leaf and its incredible journey to protect the forest's being from the natural disaster and restore the harmony of the forest. Its a side scrolling, action game, where player controls the leaf by flicking and collect small insects from various locations in the level and safely take them to their home by dodging various obstacles while staying afloat and not crashing. 

As a game designer I designed different mechanics and details like player movement, enemy behaviour, obstacles, collectables, etc. In addition, I was the only level designer in the team. I designed all the three levels with the process of iterative design. The biggest challenge was to match the difficulty level for the target audience of kids. After conducting the playtest session, some children found the game to be hard while some of them found it too easy. Finding the right balance was the real challenge as a designer.
